Wine Review: "A delicious frizzante sangria crafted with Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon red wine, Mediterranean citrus, and a touch of cinnamon. Clear, neat, bright, and attractive with a fine constant bubble. Keeping its fresh wine essence, with a cherry touch, orange rind, sweet peach, cinnamon, and sour strawberry."
Wine Folly: pg. 175 - Tempranillo. Tempranillo generally has a lot of body, tannins, alcohol, and acidity with low sweetness. The typical notes in Tempranillo are cherry, tobacco, cedar, dill, and dried fig. They can be opened and consumed young but they are best when they have been aged for a little while in an oak barrel. More refined Tempranillos pair best with gourmet burgers, steak, lamb, baked pasta, and tomato-based dishes. pg. 88 - Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet Sauvignon generally has notes of cedar, cherry, baking spices, black currant, and graphite. It is a cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc and is one of the most consumed wines in the world. This wine is usually high in body and tannins, medium in acidity and alcohol, and low in sweetness. It is paired best with rich grilled meats, peppery sauces, and dishes with high flavor.
Personal Take: When I first tasted this wine it was immediately something I knew I would like. Red blends are more my style when it comes to wine as they are sweeter and less harsh on the palate for me. At first, I got notes of cherry, strawberry, slight citrus, definitely residual sugars, and plum. I also got notes of sight spice but I just couldn't put my finger on which spice I smelled. I want to say this was aged in an oak barrel for some time as I did get a hint of vanilla. I would definitely buy this wine again!
